A cruise of 26 looted royal treasures from the Kingdom of Dahomey, which was displayed in Paris, is now returning to Benin. Diop artistically expresses the demands of the new generation. It will have its world premiere on February 18, 2024 at the 74th Berlin Film Festival. In reality, everything is not as good as people imagine. It might just be me, but this really isn’t a movie I care much about, so I won’t be able to be that objective. The fact is, it’s just a regular job that doesn’t offer anything new that I was hoping for, judging by what others have said about Dahomey. Anyway, yeah, nothing else to say doesn’t change how I see anything. Which is good, but not good at the same time, but well, maybe next time… Check out the complete lineup for the 62nd New York Film Festival this fall.
